If you want to attend the sole annual excursion of Notre-Dame de la Consolation in Ittre, don’t miss the departure of the Procession on the first Sunday of July. During this procession, after the 10:30 mass in the St Pierre Church in Ittre, the statue of Notre-Dame de la Consolation, especially small, is borne through the village, surrounded by the horsemen of the town. In 2002, after the restoration of the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Consolation, built in 1702, the event lost its highly religious character. With the agreement of the parish priest, the solemn Procession now corresponds to the "ducasse Saint Pierre" (fair). At the end of the procession, the Brotherhood of the Tarte au Crastofé receives all the participants and invites them to a free tasting of tarte au Crastofé, accompanied as is fitting by a good beer. |
