A spot par excellence for a walk, Dodaine Park, whose origins go back to the Napoleonic era, offers not only a moment of relaxation for strollers, but also a whole infrastructure with numerous sporting possibilities for the more "courageous" among us. This superb site dates from the beginning of the 19th century. Pedestrian paths, two bodies of water, a French garden, an English garden and flowerbeds have been laid out there. Walkers stroll among beautiful sculptures by Albert Desenfans, Ducaju and Michiels, grimacing Neogothic gargoyles and the 17th century Baroque portal, salvaged from the Collegiate Church... A magnificent spot for relaxation a stone’s throw from the city centre for the whole family! Guided visits possible for groups by reservation only. This visit is part of a city visit and can be conducted in French, Dutch, German or English, as you choose. Length of the visit: approximately 1 hr 30 min. To find out more, consult our page of practical information: Visits and group packages. At the end of the park, the Queen Astrid sports field was opened in 1938. Football, hockey, tennis, basketball, and track and field events are held there. A large multipurpose hall houses indoor sport: volleyball, handball, fencing, table tennis, etc. To find out more, consult the site of the Maison des Sports of Nivelles asbl www.nivellesport.be Tel.: +32 (0)67 84 15 05 |
