An exceptional built heritage site of the Walloon Region, these feudal mounds dating from the 11th century were the hillocks of land on which castles and defence towers stood in the Middle Ages.

As you leave the village of Braine-le-Château, not far from the Sainte-Croix Chapel, there stand the "Monts", feudal mounds whose vestiges take the form of lush hills of rather impressive dimensions. The first castle of Braine was built on this site, particularly suitable for defence.

The importance of this historical site has put it on the list of exceptional built heritage sites of the Walloon Region.

This verdant site is part of a pedestrian tour of the village of Braine-le-Château. Accompanied by a guide, you discover in approximately 2 hours the treasures of this pretty village of the Roman Païs.
