On the second Sunday before Easter, the effervescence is at its height in Rebecq, a pretty little village in the Roman Païs, as Momus, the Rebecq giant straight out of Greek mythology, gets ready for the carnival...

The carnival of Rebecq is held on the second Sunday before Easter. The procession, made up of about thirty floats, each more colourful than the last, leaves around 3 pm from Quenast and reaches the Grand-Place of Rebecq in a joyous crowd around 8 pm where, according to carnival tradition, the burning of humpbacked straw figures takes place. Children are not forgotten either, as Saturday is entirely devoted to them.
